Market analysis for anti-influenza products
This project was designed for an important player in the pharmaceutical industry and, more specifically, for its anti-flu products. The company demanded our collaboration to better plan its marketing campaigns in relation to the peak periods of influenza in the new and uncertain context determined by the Covid 19 pandemic.
- Description and benefits
Sales of these medicines are highly seasonal, especially during the cold season. In order to better schedule marketing campaigns, it is essential to have reliable estimates already at the end of summer. Through our intervention, the client can count on a predictive tool able to estimate the sales of the following flu season.
This tool can provide differentiated predictions, based on the progression of various flu waves scenarios.

An intervention articulated on three fronts
Our intervention has considered:
The creation of a model based on time series, for the weekly forecast of the flu curve
The simulation, through epidemiological models, of the different scenarios related to the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, which depend on the vaccination coverage and the measures implemented to contain the contagion.
The development of a model that predicts weekly sales by combining the estimates derived from the previous two methods.
